Resume
Obesity is also largely involved in the impact on the state of the musculoskeletal system, contributing to the aggravation of its pathology, including osteoarthritis (OA), inflammatory joint diseases, pain in the lower back, soft tissues, causing a decrease in physical activity and working capacity of patients. The association between obesity and OA is quite well described the effect of obesity on the function of the knee and, to a lesser extent, hip joints is shown. However, the studies conducted to assess the OA of the knee and hip joints differed in design, the studied population and the methodology for determining the degree of progression of the disease.
Keywords: obesity, osteoarthritis, course, severity.
