Resume

This review article presents a new diagnostic method of speckle-tracking echocardiography and its practical application in clinical cardiology. Evaluation of the longitudinal myocardial deformity index with its help is the most sensitive in multiple cardiac pathologies, such as heart failure, coronary heart disease, valvular pathologies, hypertensive hypertrophy, amyloidosis of the heart and tracking the effect of cardiotoxicity in the treatment of cancer.

Keywords: Speckle tracking echocardiography, stress echocardiography, longitudinal strain, radial strain, circular strain.
