FREQUENCY OF MYOPIA DETECTION IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH TUBERCULOSIS

Resume
The article provides information on the frequency of detection of myopia in children and adolescents with tuberculosis.
During the examination, myopia was detected in 292 children and adolescents with tuberculosis, which amounted to 17.3±0.9% of the total number of those examined.
Myopia in children and adolescents with tuberculosis developed mainly at the ages of 10 and 14 years. With age, the number of myopic children, especially girls, increased.
When comparing the frequency of detection of myopia in boys and girls without taking into account age, there was a statistically significant predominance in girls (24.2±1.6%) compared to boys (12.3±1.0%; P<0.001).
