FUNCTIONAL ACTIVITY OF RED CELLS IN NEWBORNS WITH RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME

Resume,

Respiratory distress syndrome is one of the main reasons of the high-risk morbidity and lethality among the newborn children in early neonatal period. The aim of the present resesrch is to study the acid resistance of the red cells among the term infants with severe respiratory distress syndrome. The main group consisted of full-term newborns with respiratory distress syndrome; the control group comprised 44 full-term newborns without respiratory distress. Acid resistance of red cells was determined by the method of the Terskova-Gitelson. The results of the research showed that among the newdorn children with severe respiratory distress syndrome (n=44), while the acid resistance is increased, which speaks of the disorder in the functional activity of the red cells and tension of erythrogenesis in in the given group of the newborn children if compared with 44 children without distress syndrome. In newdorns with respiratory distress syndrome acid resistance increases, wich indicates a violation of the functional activity of red cells.
