THERAPEUTIC AND DIAGNOSTIC ALGORITHM FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS WITH LIVER ECHINOCOCCOSIS

Resume,

The basis for the study was 371 patients with liver echinococcosis, admitted to the departments of surgery of the 1st and 2nd clinic of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. The use of the introduced complex of treatment helped to reduce the frequency of postoperative complications from 13.1 to 4.3%, reduce the duration of surgical intervention, and reduce the duration of inpatient  treatment by half. Only through intraoperative treatment of the residual cavity with glycerin at room temperature was it possible to reduce the frequency of recurrence of echinococcosis from 27.2 to 7.3% and the use of hot glycerin in combination with postoperative chemotherapy allowed the cases of relapse to be reduced to zero.
