Resume,

The article presents a modern understanding of the hydatidiform moles, epidemiology, and analyzed the available data on risk factors and their role in the development of this pathology. Despite numerous long-term studies in this area around the world, the discovery of the molecular-genetic aspects of the HM, such important issues as the cause of sporadic HM, primary prevention of HM, the role of viral infection, the state of immune status, influence of environmental factors.

Keywords: trophoblastic disease, hydatidiform mole, choriocarcinoma, epigenetic, gene mutations
