PATHOGENETIC HETEROGENEITY OF TIA AND ISSUES OF STROKE PREVENTION

Resume,

Transient ischemic attack (TIA), being a precursor to stroke, increases the risk of its development up to 30%. Low public awareness of TIA symptoms can cause late hospitalization of patients with its development and thereby contribute to the occurrence of stroke and reduce the effectiveness of treatment. The use of the ABCD2 scale which is easy to use in practice (age, arterial hypertension, the presence of paresis and aphasia, the duration of symptoms is more than 60 minutes, diabetes mellitus) can be predictive in hospitalizing this type of patients. It is necessary to begin secondary prevention of stroke as early as possible; the question of choosing modern methods for the prevention and treatment of patients with TIA, choosing the optimal method for surgical treatment of patients with carotid stenosis is not completely resolved currently. The       study of this problem can provide more accurate criteria      for the optimal choice of modern Methods of diagnostics, prevention and treatment of patients with transient ischemic attacks.
