Resume,

In the last ten years, the concept of “ovarian reserve” and its significance for the selection of methods for treating infertility in women have been widely discussed. Despite a significant amount of work, the diagnostic value of individual parameters in determining the functional state of the ovaries in various forms of infertility has not yet been established. The ovarian reserve determines the quantity and quality of the primary ovarian follicular reserve. Low ovarian reserve indicates a limitation of the number of oocytes in the ovaries in women of reproductive age and is an important cause of infertility in many couples. For a long time, this problem has not been given attention of scientists due to the rapid development of in vitro fertilization as an effective method of treating infertility. A number of studies have shown that approximately 10% of women who have undergone IVF, the expected response to stimulation with gonadotropins will be weak. But in reality, the frequency may be much higher in the population of infertile women, since many of them do not complete the full surveys either for some reason do not pass the in vitro fertilization cycle. This review analyzes some aspects of the diagnosis and management of patients with low ovarian reserve and its effect on fertility and long-term health of women.

Key words: in vitro fertilization, anti-Mullerian hormone, tests for ovarian reserve, number of antral follicles, gonadotropins, live birth.
