Resume,

Frontal epilepsy is a large and heterogeneous group of various epileptic syndromes which presents significant difficulties for diagnosis and treatment. Nowadays, frontal lobar epilepsy takes the 2nd place among the symptomatic forms of epilepsy after temporal lobe. The frontal parts of a brain in human occupy the 1st place in terms of area and variety of functions performed, it explains the variety of clinical manifestations. Frontal epilepsy can appear with unusual symptoms that remains manifestations of mental illness or sleep disorders. The causes of developing frontal epilepsy are different. For the successful treatment of this complex form of epilepsy, an integrated approach is needed- modern diagnostic methods including MRI research, EEG video monitoring of night sleep.

Keywords: Epilepsy, electroencephalography, epileptogenic focus, focus lateralization, epileptic attack, cognitive interruptions.
