Chronic heart failure (CHF) is one of the most frequent complications of cardiovascular diseases (CVD), which largely determines their course and prognosis. Moreover, many different factors negatively affect the course of heart failure and the quality of life of patients with heart failure. It is known that disturbances in the psychoemotional state exacerbate the course of CHF and entail a number of adverse consequences not only of a medical, but also of a social nature: an increase in mortality, the number and duration of hospitalizations, an increase in the risk of suicides, a decrease in the quality of life of patients and their professional status, and early disability. A significant place is given to psychosocial factors: this is the lack or insufficient social support, impaired adaptation to a chronic disabling disease, the need to adhere to the recommended lifestyle changes, difficulties in understanding and remembering multicomponent drug regimes. Until now, the question of the relationship of symptoms of depression with impaired systolic function of the left ventricle and structural changes in the myocardium remains insufficiently studied. One of thecomponents of the new methodological approaches is the identification of disorders of the psychoemotional state in patients with heart failure. There is evidence that in patients with impaired psychoemotional state and chronic heart failure, the clinical and functional state worsens, the number and duration of hospitalizations increases, and the quality of life (QOL) and its duration decrease.
