The imposifion of secondary sutures on purulent wounds after their cleansing from necrotic masses and the appearance of granulations eliminates cosmetic defects of postoperative wounds. High clinical and bacteriological efficacy in combination with a high safety profile suggest the need for wider use of the antiseptic drug “Betadine” in surgical practice
