Resume
Objective: to identify of MRI signs of relapse of pain in patients after surgical removal of the intervertebral disc hernia of the lumbosacral spine. We analyzed the results of MRI of 72 patients (31 women, 41 men) operated on for lumbar hernias in the postoperative period from 1 month to 3 years after surgery. The most common cause of recurrence of pain after surgical removal of hernias of the intervertebral discs in our study was a recurrence of hernia at the level of the operated disc (56.9%). In 30 (41.7%) patients, the appearance of new hernias above or below the discs, which were not before the operation, was noted. The most recent complications of discectomy are spondylarthrosis and spondylolisthesis. In a number of patients, as a result of dystrophic changes, spinal stenosis and bone marrow edema of vertebral bodies at the site of surgery occurred.
Key words: disc herniation, spondylarthrosis, spondylolisthesis.
