Resume

This article presents the results of a retrospective analysis of 32 children with blunt intestinal trauma who were admitted for examination and treatment to the Andijan branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid. In the study group, factors associated with the delay in treatment were identified in order to determine the validity of physical and instrumental research methods. The authors conclude that signs suggestive of severe bowel damage are present in children during the initial physical examination and that decisions about surgery can be made based on physical examination. Abdominal CT is not always a reliable method for diagnosing blunt bowel injury in children. Children with blunt abdominal trauma should be examined by personnel experienced in treating children with trauma or transferred to specialized institutions.

Key words: trauma, gastrointestinal tract, physical examination, computed tomography, children.
