Resume

Ninety-one patients with metabolic syndrome were examined. Among them, the correlation between the prothrombin index and glycemic indicators was studied. To assess the significance of the sympathoadrenal and vagoinsular phases of the glycemic curve, fasting glycemic levels were analyzed 1 and 2 hours after glucose loading. At the same time, to study the pathogenetic mechanisms of carbohydrate metabolism, the ratios between the indicators of various phases of the glycemic curve were calculated in order to improve screening studies for the detection of chronic non – communicable diseases, including those associated with insulin resistance and blood clotting, one of the main indicators of hemostasis- the prothrombin index-was selected. It is shown that the prothrombin index has certain correlations with indicators of carbohydrate metabolism. The strongest and most reliable relationship was found for glycosylated hemoglobin.

Keywords: metabolic syndrome, impaired glucose tolerance, hemostasis, prothrombin index.
