Resume

One of the dreaded complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic maculopathy, which can be subdivided into exudative, ischaemic and traction forms .The exudative form is one of the most common forms in which rings of hard exudates are formed which gradually begin to rise to the foveola. Speaking of solid exudates in general, their formation in the retina is due to sweating of the blood vessel wall, deposition of lipids, lipoproteins are formed from .They often penetrate through retinal microaneurysms and capillaries . In addition, there are also hypotheses that solid exudates are the product of degeneration of Müller cells, which presumably contain yellow pigment.
