Resume

Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common cardiac arrhythmias. Atrial fibrillation is often complicated by thromboembolism, which leads to a deterioration in the quality of life of patients and also affects the prognosis of the disease. Considering the sufficient number of concomitant diseases that increase the risk of developing this complication, it is advisable to consider them as risk factors.

Key words: atrial fibrillation, thromboembolism, ischemic stroke.
