Resume

Neutrophil-to-albumin percentage ratio (NPAR) is a new measure of systemic inflammation. Low levels of albumin and high neutrophils increase the risk of infection. Spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP) is one of the serious complications of cirrhotic ascites. The in-hospital mortality rate for spontaneous bacterial peritonitis is approximately 20%. However, proper diagnosis and treatment can reduce the mortality rate.
