HEADACHE AND SLEEP DISORDERS

Resume

Epidemiological studies show the relationship between headaches and sleep disorders. This article describes the pathophysiological and behavioral mechanisms by which chronic insomnia develops with headaches. Special attention is paid to the effect of sleep disorders on primary headaches, migraines and cluster headaches.  Data on the use of melatonin in the complex treatment of chronic headaches are presented.
