Resume
The new coronovirus infection Sovid-19 pandemic has been a difficult test for the health systems of many countries. Today, the clinical and epidemiological features of the disease are the subject of discussion and have not been sufficiently explored. Research on the effects of the coronavirus on the cardiovascular system deserves special attention. This is of great interest because myocardial injury is the second most common cause of death in Covid-19 [1]. The harmful effect of the virus on the cardiovascular system is explained by multifactoriality. The virus has a direct and indirect effect on its elements. Hypoxic, metabolic and ischemic damage to the myocardium, sometimes petechial and scattered hemorrhages with microangiopathy, small focal, sometimes transmural myocardial infarctions in the case of thrombosis of the heart arteries, presence of virus-like lesions on the walls of coronary arteries due to the absence of atherosclerosis in microscopic examination, that is, the detection of mononuclear infiltration in and around the wall of blood vessels is the basis for saying that it is directly affected by the coronavirus.
Key words: myocardium, cardiomyocyte, microvessels, SARS-CoV-2; COVID-19;
