Resume

Among patients with chronic viral hepatitis C (HCV), the frequency of complications such as liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma is very high, and in most cases this is due to the late diagnosis of liver fibrosis. The frequency of complications in patients with HCV depends on the level of risk factors that enhance the development of fibrosis. This scientific article presents the results of a study of the prevalence and significance of risk factors that increase the development of fibrosis in patients with HCV. Among the risk factors, overweight, visceral obesity and the type of antiviral therapy were of great importance.
