Resume

The increasing average life expectancy in combination with the requirements for maintaining its quality leads to an increase in the number of elderly and senile patients seeking medical care with complaints of decreasing quality of life caused by degenerative spinal degeneration. Degenerative-dystrophic changes in the spine are a genetically determined poly-etiological dystrophic process. In elderly and senile individuals (60-75 years old and 75-90 years old according to the World Health Organization classification, 1963), degenerative spinal changes are a manifestation of natural involutive processes, occurring in 95-98% of cases and can lead to the formation of spinal canal stenosis. Acquired spinal stenosis often develops in the 70s of life.
