Resume
Lacrimal obstruction (dacryostenosis) is a common ophthalmological pathology that leads to chronic lacrimation, inflammatory processes and a decrease in the quality of life of patients. Lacrimal duct obstruction is a common pathology found in both children and adults. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 6% of newborns are born with congenital nasolacrimal canal obstruction, and among adults, the incidence varies from 1 to 6%, depending on age and gender. This article discusses modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of the disease, including conservative and surgical approaches. The analysis of surgical complications was carried out taking into account the statistical data of research in the Ferghana region.
