Resume
The article discusses the biologically active substances and pharmacological properties, chemical composition, and use of the plant saffron dye (Carthamus tinctorius L.) in folk and modern medicine. The plant has long been used to treat various diseases, and modern scientific research confirms that it is a potential drug for the treatment of such problems as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, inflammatory processes and liver diseases. The article discusses the biologically active compounds contained in maksara, their pharmacological mechanisms of action and clinical use.
