CONSEQUENCES OF COVID-19 AND ITS IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH HEART DISEASE

Resume

The review is devoted to the currently relevant problem of the consequences of COVID-19, its prevalence, as well as changes in the heart and blood vessels in patients with cardiovascular diseases. The data presented prove how negatively COVID-19 affects the heart. According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), self-isolation and quarantine measures were introduced in all countries of the world. The risk group for COVID-19 included elderly people and patients with chronic diseases, since they had the highest level of deaths and complications. Today, it is known that many patients face serious problems with the cardiovascular system both in the acute period of COVID-19 and within several months after the infection. Studies have shown that in patients with cardiac comorbidity, complications may manifest themselves 12 weeks after recovery - this phenomenon is called post-covid syndrome. Arrhythmias often develop against the background of infection, including in combination with myocarditis or coronary heart disease. In addition, there is a deterioration in the psychoemotional state of patients, which leads to a decrease in the quality and duration of life.
