EFFECTIVENESS OF COMPLEX THERAPY OF CHRONIC CEREBRAL ISCHEMIA OF ATHEROSCLEROTIC GENESIS

Resume

Cerebrovascular diseases, such as chronic cerebral ischemia (CCI) of atherosclerotic genesis, are a serious public health problem. This article is devoted to the evaluation of the effectiveness of complex therapy for CCI, including lipid-lowering therapy. The study showed that such treatment leads to a statistically significant improvement in the neurological status of patients, which is confirmed by a decrease in scores on the NIHSS, mRS and MMSE scales, as well as an increase in the Barthel index. Hypolipidemic therapy was effective in reducing the level of total cholesterol and low-density lipoproteins (LDL), key risk factors for atherosclerosis. In addition, an improvement in cerebral circulation was found, expressed in an increase in the linear blood flow velocity (LBFV) in the common carotid artery (ССA), external carotid artery (ECA), internal carotid artery (ICA), and vertebral arteries. The results confirm the importance of including lipid-lowering therapy (in particular, statins) in the standards of complex treatment of CCI of atherosclerotic genesis. The article contains practical recommendations for the clinical application of the proposed approach, including the need for regular monitoring of the neurological status, lipid profile and vascular ultrasound Doppler parameters to optimize therapy.
