Resume
The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of a resorbable collagen pad (CP) on the rate and quality of epithelialization of postoperative palatal wounds using clinical and cytological indices. Material and methods. The study included 100 patients after uranoplasty, randomized into 3 groups. The epithelialization time, pain syndrome (VAS), voice nasalness index and cytological markers (mitotic index, superficial/intermediate layer cell ratio, neutrophil and macrophage count) were assessed on days 3, 7, 14 and 30. Results. KP provided significantly faster complete epithelialization (13.2±1.7 days) versus 16.8±2.1 days (comparative, p<0.01) and 19.4±2.3 days (control, p<0.001). Conclusion. The use of KP significantly improves the rate and morphological quality of palate epithelialization, reducing postoperative rehabilitation
