Resume
The effectiveness of various methods of operculectomy, such as scalpel, electric knife, and laser, has been evaluated. The effectiveness of surgical intervention was assessed by the severity of postoperative pain, collateral edema, wound healing dynamics, and the frequency of recurrence of pericoronitis. The results of the study showed the prospects of using laser exposure to excision of the overhanging mucous membrane in pericoronitis, which was expressed by the almost complete absence of pain and pronounced collateral edema in the postoperative period, the exception of recurrence of the inflammatory process and optimal healing of the area of intervention without cases of severe scarring of the mucosa.
Key words: pericoronitis, laser, electrosurgery.
