EFFECTIVE TREATMENT METHODS FOR BREAST CANCER IN ELDERLY WOMEN

Resume

In many countries, life expectancy is rapidly increasing, and along with this, the incidence of malignant tumors among the elderly is also on the rise. In European countries, the rate of malignant tumor cases among men over the age of 60, including gynecomastia, is 61%, while among women it accounts for 57%. According to the classification adopted by the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe, individuals aged 60–74 are considered elderly, those aged 75–89 are classified as aged, and those aged 90 and above are considered long-livers. Age is one of the main risk factors for breast cancer. The average age at diagnosis of breast cancer is approximately 60 years. In more than 40% of all cases, breast cancer occurs in women aged 60 and older.
