ASSESSMENT OF CALORIC NEEDS IN PATIENTS WITH BODY MASS INDEX IN THE BONE MARROW TRANSPLANT DEPARTMENT
Nurov B.B. - Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina
Resume
The study presents an assessment of caloric requirements in patients with varying body mass index (BMI) undergoing treatment in the Bone Marrow Transplantation Department of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Hematology (Tashkent). Analysis of patient data showed that the mean BMI was 56, corresponding to severe overweight. Physiological calculations revealed that the optimal daily caloric intake for this group is approximately 1400 kcal, whereas the actual intake provided was 2853 kcal. These findings indicate the potential for optimizing inpatient nutrition to ensure rational use of resources without compromising the somatic health of patients.
Keywords: body mass index, bone marrow transplantation, caloric intake, nutritional support, hematology.
