OMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENT OF SALIVA AND EMAL CONDITIONS IN CARIES AND HYPERSENSITIVITY OF TEETH

Shokirova Kh.A. - Central Asian Medical University

Resume

The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the biochemical and physicochemical characteristics of saliva and enamel in students of the Fergana region and to determine their relationship with the prevalence of caries and dental hypersensitivity. The study included 382 respondents (18-25 years old) from the city of Fergana. The following were assessed: saliva flow rate (unstimulated and stimulated), pH, buffer capacity, calcium and phosphate ion content, secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA), caries indices (DMFT, ICDAS), and the prevalence of dental hypersensitivity (VAS scale and Schiff scale). The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, group comparisons, and logistic regression. The results showed a high prevalence of caries (68%) and tooth sensitivity (42%), as well as a stable correlation between low buffer capacity, reduced saliva pH, and an increased risk of caries and hypersensitivity. Based on the results, practical recommendations for prevention and treatment were proposed.

Keywords: saliva, buffer capacity, pH, caries, tooth hypersensitivity, enamel.
