THE CONTENT OF SILYMARIN IN THE QUSHQO'NMAS PLANT CULTIVATED IN THE BUKHARA REGION

Resume

This article investigates biologically active compounds of milk thistle (Silybum marianum L.), cultivated under the agroclimatic conditions of the Bukhara region, with particular emphasis on the presence of the microelement selenium (Se) and its pharmacological significance. The study analyzed the accumulation characteristics of selenium in the seeds and aerial parts of the milk thistle plant. The obtained results indicate that milk thistle exhibits antioxidant, hepatoprotective, and immunomodulatory properties. It was determined that the soil and climatic conditions of the Bukhara region provide a favorable environment for selenium biocumulation in milk thistle. The potential use of this plant as a promising raw material for the production of biologically active supplements and phytopreparations was discussed.
