Resume
A comparative assessment of the dynamics of changes in the amount of somatotropin in the blood to determine the functional reserve of the somatotropic function of the pituitary gland and the body’s ability to grow to a certain extent was carried out both at rest and during physical exertion. To deepen the understanding of the regulation of growth hormone control during puberty, pituitary (somatotropin) and adrenal (cortisol) reactions were carried out simultaneously with physical exertion and at maximum tension with a gradual increase in physical activity (work on a bicycle ergometer). Determination of somatotropin and cortisol in blood plasma was carried out by the ELISA method. The result of the tests showed that under the influence of physical exertion, the activity of the somatotropic function of the pituitary gland increases. Conversely, during physical exertion, the amount of cortisol concentration decreases and returns to its place after a certain period of time. Physiological reactions of the pituitary gland (with somatotropin) and the adrenal glands (with cortisol) were observed during exercise – an increase in the concentration of hormones in the blood during exercise at a low level per unit, and a decrease at a high level in plasma. during physical exertion.
Keywords: hormones, pituitary gland, somatotropin, adrenal glands, cortisol, physical activity, adolescence, puberty.
